The oysters included in this purchase are potential “stinkers.” This means that, based on their appearance, they may show signs that could indicate a strong smell once opened.

That said, appearances can be deceiving — some oysters may look unusual but be perfectly normal inside.

Regardless of the smell, the pearl or pearls inside will be absolutely fine.

Safety & Opening Advice

• We strongly recommend opening your oyster outdoors, as the smell can be very strong.
• Avoid allowing the oyster contents to come into contact with your skin.
• Use a butter knife to open the oyster — there is no need for sharp tools.
• Not suitable for young children.
• If possible, you may wish to wear a face mask while opening.

By purchasing one of these oysters, you acknowledge and accept that there is a high likelihood it may be a “stinker,” although some may be perfectly fine.

Please record your oyster opening. On the very rare occasion that an oyster does not contain a pearl, simply email your video to us and we will send a replacement oyster.

If your oyster contains a pearl, there’s no need to send us your video — though you’re more than welcome to share it in the Pearls With Breckon Group if you’d like!
